We have provided design services for six storage unit building projects for Cornerstone Storage in last 12 years. These projects are located in Ralston, NE, Council Bluffs, Iowa, in addition to the two the projects shown above. Sites are generally located in flood hazard areas with very flat slopes to make storm sewer construction and acceptable drainage a challenge. We were responsible for all civil related work on all these projects. In total the projects have exceeded $55m in total construction.
OLDER PROJECTS
Greenbrier Rail Services Repair Complex, Hershey, NE (2010)
The project involved the development of an 10 acre cornfield into a warehouse facility with rail and highway access into in. Our involvement in the project included: design of the site water and sewer; stormwater collection and management; off-site roadway improvements; drainage and erosion control design; grading design; train rail and highway access design; permitting; and large stormwater detention area. The warehouse can store up to six railcars at one time. Greenbrier Rail Services is one of the industry’s largest railcar repair companies that reconditions crucial railcar component parts and cars.
Predator Trailers, Papillion, NE (2012)
The project involved the development of an 1 acre vacant lot in the middle of an industrial park into custom trailer manufacturing and sales building. The biggest challenge on this project was that the Owner requested as flat as slope as possible all around his building so that trailers wouldn't move and could be worked on while parked out front yet maintain drainage. Blakeman Engineering minimized slopes to the satisfaction of the Owner. Our involvement in the project included: design of the site water and sewer; storm water detention; water quality treatment; drainage and erosion control design; grading design; and permitting.
